“Congratulations to the Little Potato Company on opening their expanded operations in the Nisku Business Park. This new facility spans an impressive 240,000 square feet and showcases innovative technology to sort and package potatoes using eco-friendly materials and processes.

“The Little Potato Company’s new $39.5-million facility doubles its processing capacity to 125 million pounds of potatoes each year, producing packaged spuds with delicious seasoning that can be quickly roasted, microwaved or grilled. Seventy per cent of the company’s processed products will be exported to the United States, boosting Alberta’s reputation as the third-largest agri-food exporter in Canada.

“In 2024, the Little Potato Company qualified for a tax credit through the Agri-Processing Investment Tax Credit Program and was granted a conditional approval for a tax credit of up to nearly $1.3 million.

“Through incentives like the tax credit, we’re building on Alberta’s competitive advantages, driving economic growth, bringing new investors to the province and helping local companies, like the Little Potato Company, grow successful operations right here in Alberta.”
