Alberta's government is working with international partners to improve air access options to Alberta and identify new opportunities to grow the province’s visitor economy. As part of the mission to France and Germany, the minister will attend the Canada Showcase Europe 2023 tradeshow to spotlight Alberta's world-class tourism experiences. The mission will help expand local businesses while creating new good-paying jobs for Albertans.

“Trade events are a valuable opportunity to showcase Alberta as a prime destination for visitors from all over the world and strengthen relationships with key tourism partners. I look forward to supporting our representatives from Alberta and Canada, providing exposure to our tourism potential and growing our visitor economy, creating more jobs for Albertans.”

Joseph Schow, Minister of Tourism and Sport

The minister’s travel includes meetings with industry partners from various European countries, supporting representatives during the tradeshow and promoting the experiences offered by Alberta’s tourism industry.

The minister will be joined by one staff member and representatives from Travel Alberta. Mission expenses will be posted on the travel and expense disclosure page.

The Alberta government is committed to working with its national and international partners to advance shared interests that can lead to new opportunities for people and businesses in Alberta and around the world.
