“June 10 is Action Anxiety Day.
“It is normal to experience anxiety – feelings of worry or nervousness – at various times throughout your life. Anxiety becomes an issue when it begins to interfere with daily life.
“If your anxiety is ongoing and affecting your ability to work, socialize or perform daily tasks, support is available. Talk to your health-care provider or call 211 Alberta.
“It is estimated that more than 30 per cent of people will be diagnosed with an anxiety disorder over the course of their lifetime. Anxiety disorders include phobias, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, acute stress disorder and generalized anxiety disorder.
“It is important to remember that recovery is possible and that there are many things we can do to improve our overall mental health. This #ActionAnxietyDay, show your support by talking about your experiences or reaching out to a friend or family member who may need help.”
