The second of three $1-million prizes has been awarded to Amie Gee of Calgary. Her name was drawn from over 1.85 million entries in the Open for Summer Lottery.
In addition, 42 other winners are the recipients of travel prizes generously donated by Air Canada, WestJet, and the Rocky Mountaineer and Juniper Hotel.
To date, 78.2 per cent of eligible Albertans have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, including 70 per cent who are now fully vaccinated with two doses.
“I can think of no better way to celebrate getting vaccinated by planning a fantastic trip, and thanks to our corporate partners at WestJet, Air Canada, and Rocky Mountaineer, there are now over 40 Albertans who are planning to do just that. Congratulations to Amie, and all of the other winners. I encourage Albertans who haven’t gotten their second dose to do so as soon as possible to qualify for the final draw at the end of September!”
“I am so pleased we are able to reward Albertans who took the step to protect themselves, their loved ones and their communities. Now more than ever we need Albertans to step up and get both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Please make appointments to do so as soon as possible.”
Get vaccinated and register for upcoming draws
To encourage Albertans to get their second COVID-19 vaccine doses, one final Open for Summer Lottery draw for $1 million will follow in September. Albertans aged 18 and over who register for the lottery and receive two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine by September 23 will be eligible to win. This includes Albertans who were vaccinated outside of the province.
Albertans who registered for the first two draws are automatically entered for the third draw and do not need to re-register. To register for the lottery and see a complete list of rules and eligibility requirements, please visit alberta.ca/lottery.
Along with the $1 million prize left in the Open for Summer Lottery, additional once-in-a-lifetime prizes are up for grabs in the Outdoor Adventure Vaccine Lottery. Visit alberta.ca/OutdoorLottery for the details.
To make booking easier, a new provincewide vaccine booking system enables users to see all open appointment times at pharmacy and AHS clinic locations closest to them. Book your shot online at alberta.ca/vaccine or call AHS at 811. Temporary walk-in clinics are also available for first doses.
