“Nurses’ contributions to improve Albertans’ health and well-being is an important cornerstone of a strong health-care system.
“As we mark International Nurses Day on May 12, Florence Nightingale’s birthday, we think of how nurses throughout the province emulate her example of courage, leadership and innovation.
“This year’s theme for National Nursing Week is We Answer the Call. At no time has this theme been more relevant than during the pandemic. Nurses have made tremendous sacrifices while displaying courage, commitment and selflessness as they battle COVID-19 on the front lines. Alberta’s government joins all Albertans in thanking nurses for answering the call.
