This release was issued under a previous government.

“Premier Redford and our government are committed to investing in families and communities as part of our Building Alberta Plan. That includes high quality, secure and affordable registry services for rapidly growing and vibrant communities like Chestermere.”

- Manmeet S. Bhullar, Minister of Service Alberta

The government will be seeking bids to own and operate the registry agent office through competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) opportunities posted on the Alberta Purchasing Connection.  Once posted, the province will assess proposals based on factors such as financial and business capability. The successful applicant must also pass a comprehensive security clearance.

Alberta’s privately-owned and operated network of registry agent offices provide registry-related services including motor vehicle registration, driver’s testing and licensing, land titles searches, corporate registration and searches, and vital statistics services. Working closely with Service Alberta, agents complete more than 8-million transactions annually at 226 locations throughout Alberta.

Our government was elected to keep building Alberta, to live within its means and to fight to open new markets for Alberta’s resources. We will continue to deliver the responsible change Albertans voted for.
