This release was issued under a previous government.

Safe drinking water access has been restored for much of High River due to the extraordinary efforts of staff of the Town of High River, Alberta Health and Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development, who have been working together to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.

Those residents still under the boil water advisory should bring their water to a rolling boil for at least one minute prior to using it for domestic purposes, including drinking, making infant formula and juices, brushing teeth, washing raw foods and making ice. Alternatively, residents may choose to use bottled water. Water used for bathing or laundering clothing does not need to be boiled.

Residents in the two remaining affected areas who are unsure if the boil water advisory still applies to them can access a color-coded street map at www.highriver.ca or they can call the Town of High River at 403-652-2110.

In addition, information on all flood-related boil water orders currently in effect across Alberta can be found at www.albertahealthservices.ca/flood.
