Alberta’s government has launched the WorkFirst Alberta Talent Exchange, an online platform designed to connect job-ready Albertans with employers seeking skilled talent. Talent Exchange is part of Alberta’s almost quarter-billion-dollar investment to transform employment services across the province, helping Albertans gain and retain meaningful employment.

Talent Exchange uses smart matching technology to match skills and experience, rather than job titles, to widen the field. This means that employers can more easily fill urgent roles and find a diverse range of quality candidates who can do the work, but whose abilities may not have been reflected in conventional resumes – including many Albertans who face barriers to employment.
Since opening in June 2026, Talent Exchange has been used by employers across a range of industries, including construction, health care and social services, hospitality and recreation, wholesale trade and public administration. As more employers and job seekers join Talent Exchange, the service will continue to evolve with the needs of Alberta’s workforce and labour market.

Talent Exchange is one part of WorkFirst Alberta, which is the most ambitious step the province has ever taken to connect Albertans to jobs and employers to job seekers. WorkFirst Alberta offers flexible, person-centred services focused on long-term success, including customized supports for persons with disabilities, women, youth, veterans and other Albertans facing barriers to employment. These services include career planning, assistive technology and supported job placements, as well as resources to help employers break down accessibility barriers in their workplace. Recognizing that barriers can extend beyond the workplace, WorkFirst Alberta also provides wraparound supports such as child care, transportation assistance for those with mobility needs, and mental health services.
Talent Exchange is open to employers and job seekers across the province. Employers are encouraged to enrol at Thrive Career Wellness Platform for Alberta Employers to start using Talent Exchange.
