As the province’s highest honour, the Order recognizes exceptional service and achievement in a wide range of fields. It is part of the Canadian Honours System and celebrates individuals whose leadership, innovation and dedication have shaped Alberta’s identity and strengthened its future.

Since its beginning in 1979, the Alberta Order of Excellence has recognized the accomplishments of 237 people in Alberta. The 2026 investiture will be held in Edmonton in October.
