“Today, the Ismaili Muslim community celebrates Imamat Day, marking the first anniversary of the accession of His Highness Prince Rahim Aga Khan V as the 50th hereditary Imam and spiritual leader of the Ismaili Muslims.
“This year, we also honour the life and legacy of His Late Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan IV, whose decades of humanitarian work and commitment to economic empowerment supported communities around the world. Through the Aga Khan Development Network, he championed entrepreneurship, education, economic self-sufficiency and opportunity, creating a legacy that will continue to inspire for generations to come.
“The Ismaili community marks this milestone in spiritual leadership as a time for reflection and renewal. Through prayer, volunteerism or acts of generosity, Imamat Day is rooted in the values of faith, service, compassion and unity. It stands as a call to action to live these values today and every day.
“I thank Alberta’s Ismaili community for their contributions to our province and for the compassion and dedication they bring to the pursuit of knowledge.
“For all who observe, may this day bring peace, fulfilment and renewed purpose.”
