Crews have discovered a cavity under a portion of Highway 63, north of Mildred Lake just south of the Fort McKay intersection, which will require traffic restrictions while further inspections and repairs are undertaken.

The speed limit is reduced to 50 kilometres per hour, and traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction during off peak hours.

Overweight vehicles are restricted from crossing that section of Highway 63 until repairs have been completed.

It’s expected that repairs, including filling the cavity, will take five to seven days to complete.
