“Alberta is leading Canada in job growth, with more than 51,000 full-time jobs added in June 2025. With changes in part-time jobs included, this is a net gain of 30,000 jobs for Albertans. This is welcome news, and proof that our plan to grow Alberta's economy is working as we remain strong, stable and resilient.
“This growth in employment has led to Alberta’s unemployment rate dropping to 6.8 percent, which is now below the national rate of 6.9 per cent. We also see a reduction in youth unemployment from 17.2 to 16.4 per cent, a welcome relief as more young people who choose Alberta are finding meaningful jobs to start building their future.
“While there is more work to do, our province is moving in the right direction as more Albertans are getting the paycheques they need to get ahead. In Alberta, we are proud to have the highest weekly earnings of any other province across Canada, 2.4 per cent higher than the next highest and five per cent higher than the national average.
“Moving forward, our government is steadily driving economic growth, with more investors choosing to do business in Alberta. By cutting red tape, lowering corporate taxes, increasing labour mobility and removing interprovincial trade barriers, our government is helping create jobs for hard-working people across the province while ensuring Alberta remains the best place to live, work and invest.”
