“With the 2024 Canadian Hydrogen Convention being hosted once again in Edmonton, I’m looking forward to seeing the excitement about hydrogen growth and hearing about new hydrogen technologies and developments. Hydrogen is expected to be trillion-dollar industry by 2050, and Alberta is ready to be at the forefront as a global hydrogen supplier.

“As Canada’s largest hydrogen producer, we are ready and able to produce some of the lowest-cost, cleanest hydrogen in the world. It’s more important than ever that we take action to grow our provincial hydrogen economy so we can advance as a world leader in clean energy development.

“Alberta has the production capacity to satisfy local hydrogen demand and provide significant export quantities to other Canadian provinces as well as international markets. With our skilled workforce and technical capacity within the hydrogen network, we are well-positioned to support the emerging clean hydrogen economy, including all the opportunities that hydrogen presents, such as ammonia.

“Events like the 2024 Canadian Hydrogen Convention give us an invaluable opportunity to showcase our province’s responsible energy sector and have important conversations with industry, governments and regulators. I’m looking forward to moving the hydrogen discussion forward at the convention. All of this will help us advance Alberta’s path to becoming a world hydrogen leader.

“I am confident the conversations taking place from April 23-25 will not only advance Alberta’s hydrogen economy but help bolster hydrogen’s reputation as a reliable global energy source.”
