“Vaisakhi is one of the most important days for Sikh people as they celebrate the beginning of the Khalsa – the community of baptized Sikhs in 1669.
“Sikhs across Alberta and around the world will honour Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the 10th Guru, as they participate in seva – selfless acts of service to those less fortunate. As one of the principal pillars of the Sikh faith, seva is an act of worship performed without any personal gain.
“To all those celebrating Vaisakhi, I extend my sincere wishes that you will be renewed in your faith.
“Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.”
