On Jan. 11, 2020, ASIRT was directed to investigate a Cold Lake RCMP officer-involved shooting. ASIRT’s investigation is now complete.

On Sept. 28, 2022, pursuant to the agreement between ASIRT and the Yukon government, ASIRT was directed to investigate a Whitehorse RCMP officer-involved shooting. ASIRT’s investigation is now complete.

ASIRT’s mandate is to effectively, independently and objectively investigate incidents involving Alberta’s police that have resulted in serious injury or death to any person, as well as serious or sensitive allegations of police misconduct.
