“Muslims around the world are commemorating the end of the holy month of Ramadan by celebrating Eid al-Fitr. Many of the more than 200,000 Muslims in Alberta are marking this important religious holiday by waking early, participating in special morning prayers, and breaking their month-long fast through special meals with friends and family.

“For Muslims, Eid celebrates their devotion to their faith as well as their love for their fellow human beings. Generous acts of charity are an important part of Eid al-Fitr and a pillar of the Muslim faith.

“We wish everyone all the best for a blessed and joyous Eid al-Fitr. Eid Mubarak!”
