On the anniversary of the United Nations’ landmark Universal Declaration of Human Rights, I’m proud to renew my commitment to ensuring that Alberta’s justice system continues to protect the freedoms of vulnerable people. Diversity will always be one of our province’s greatest strengths, and we need to have zero tolerance for division or prejudice.”
“It’s not enough simply to denounce hatred; we must take strong action against it wherever it appears. Our government has led the way on several fronts to combat hate crime, to support vulnerable Albertans, and to place the individuals who would target them for harassment and abuse behind bars. I call upon all Albertans to speak up loudly whenever they witness such acts of hatred.”
