On Sept. 26, Minister Savage will lead a roundtable event bringing key U.S. state officials, industry associations and companies from the U.S. and Canada together to advance energy security alongside the global transition to net zero.
The roundtable will be co-hosted by Daniel Yergin, vice-chairman of S&P Global and an advisor to four former U.S. presidents, and will provide an opportunity to further align strategic interests and identify collaborative opportunities. While in Washington, Minister Savage will also meet with key stakeholders to discuss Alberta’s energy sector and energy-related issues.
“Ongoing, collaborative dialogue with our partners is vital to ensuring a secure, responsible and reliable energy future. Alberta is well-positioned to meet increasing U.S. energy demand, and I look forward to discussing how we can continue to maintain safe and secure global energy supplies, bolster supply chain resilience and promote a continental energy alliance.”
The mission builds on the success of Alberta’s work to strengthen energy relationships with U.S. partners and reinforces the province’s critical role in ensuring the U.S., Canada and their allies across the globe have access to responsibly produced, reliable and affordable energy resources.
Minister Savage will be accompanied by her chief of staff.
