“Our goal is to create a better health-care system for Albertans, one that is patient-centred, integrated and sustainable. Meeting with experts from some of the top health systems in the world will enable us to learn from their best practices and innovations, and inform better approaches and outcomes for health care in Alberta.”
Minister Copping will participate in the 2022 Denmark Tour de Health, from June 28 to July 1, at the invitation of Denmark’s ambassador to Canada. This study tour and international forum highlights Danish health innovation and covers topics including digitalization in health care, approaches in elderly care, chronic disease prevention and health-care systems of the future.
Minister Copping will also lead a panel discussion with his international peers on the topic of fast-tracking digital solutions in health care.
While in London from July 4-7, Minister Copping will meet with health leaders and specialists to gain insight into their health system practices and share areas of focus for transformation and change in Alberta. Discussion areas will include innovative approaches to person-centred care – from primary to long term, electronic health system integration and improving health system outcomes and overall sustainability.
The information gathered will inform the ongoing mandate of the Ministry of Health to improve public health care throughout Alberta – especially in primary care services, home care and continuing care settings, and EMS delivery.
Two staff and one government official from Alberta Health will accompany Minister Copping on the mission.
Mission expenses will be posted on the travel and expense disclosure page.
