“Every year, parents remind their children to trick-or-treat safely – whether it’s wearing comfortable and reflective clothing or carrying a flashlight as they go door-to-door. This year, we must also talk to our children about the COVID-19 precautions we are all taking to ensure that everyone has a safe – and fun – Halloween.

“Alberta’s chief medical officer of health approved Halloween as an outdoor event, and you can find tips on how to have a happy and safe celebration – including creative ways to hand out candy and maintain physical distancing, and posters to display on doors or windows to let trick-or-treaters know if you're open for ‘boo-ness’ – at alberta.ca/Halloween.

“Please follow the advice of our health officials so we can all celebrate the spookiest time of year without the fear of spreading COVID-19.

“Happy Halloween!”
