Description: Tornado watch in effect

Severe thunderstorms have developed over central Alberta and are moving to the northeast. Some of these thunderstorms have the potential to produce a tornado. The greatest risk for tornadoes will be before 8 PM local time. Any tornado that develops will likely be brief but still capable of property damage. This tornado risk will diminish by sunset.

This is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation. Tornado watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce tornadoes. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected], call 1-800-239-0484 or post reports on X using #ABStorm.
