Description: This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. Yellowhead County has issued a Wildfire Alert. There is a wildfire west of Mercoal.

The wildfire is currently classified as out of control and is about 70 hectares in size and burning towards the north north-east. Firefighters, airtankers, helicopters and heavy equipment operators are responding to wildfire EWF030. Yellowhead County firefighters are preparing for structural protection of buildings in the area.

Area: The Wildfire is located 6 km west of Mercoal and 16 km southwest of Robb.

• Residents in the area should prepare for possible evacuation
