Description: Alberta Emergency Alert. MD of Greenview and Town of Valleyview Evacuation Alert
The Sturgeon Lake wildfire is currently burning West/North West of Valleyview. Be prepared to evacuate on short notice. No evacuation is required currently. With worsening weather conditions, this fire could force evacuation of the affected area.
Area: Evacuation Alert issued for the following area: Highway 49 TWP RD 222 South to TWP RD 700, West to RR 230 and North to TWP RD 710 including the Town of Valleyview.
Affected areas (2):
- Valleyview
- Greenview No. 16
Action to take:
- Everyone in the affected area must prepare for a possible evacuation
- Gather pets, important documents and medication, enough food, water and supplies for at least 3 days
- This alert will be updated if an evacuation is required
- Stay tuned to www.alberta.ca/emergencyalert, local media for updates.
