Description: Alberta Emergency Alert - Wildfire Alert Updated

An evacuation has been ordered for everyone in the Hamlet of La Crete and the rural area outside of the hamlet east of Steep Hill Creek, also known as Range Rd. 164, to Range Rd. 150, south of the Peace River, north of Highway 697. Everyone must immediately evacuate these areas.

Do not stay in an evacuated area. All Mackenzie County evacuees are required to register at the Fort Vermilion Mackenzie County Office at 4511 – 46 Ave. Fort Vermilion, or register by calling 780-927-3718. The Evacuation Alert of be prepared to evacuate on short notice will remain for the area west of Steep Hill Creek, Range Road 164, south of the Peace River to Township Road 1010. We encourage you to take your RV or holiday trailer. If you require parking for your RV or holiday trailer, contact the Reception Centre. Action to take:

  • Everyone in the Hamlet of La Crete and those living in the rural area east of Steep Hill Creek, known as Range Rd
  • 164, to Range Rd
  • 150, south of the Peace River, north of Highway 697 must evacuate immediately
  • Persons evacuating this area should take their medication, blankets, sleeping bags, personal identification and documents if possible
