Area: Bonnyville #87

Description: There is a wildfire on Range Road 474 between Highway 28 and Secondary Highway 660 north west of the Town of Bonnyville.

Fire crews are on the scene. As of 2:30 p.m. June 4, the fire was classified as being held. Wind started some fires inside the Cat guard. The fire jumped the north guard - but has now been contained. Fire also jumped the south Cat guard, which firefighters are working to contain. Town of Bonnyville residents will notice increased smoke due to this. The campgrounds and Franchere-area residents have been evacuated. We ask everyone to avoid the area to let crews do their work. Also, stay off of Moose Lake to allow firefighting aircraft to refill.
