Description: Update: There are still out of control wildfires in the MD of Opportunity, and the public must be cautious and keep updated regarding these wildfires. The communities of, Hamlet of Wabasca, Bigstone Cree Nation - Wabasca # 166, and Chipewyan Lake Village are evacuated and the public must not be in these areas. There is heavy smoke in the area and numerous road closures due to the wildfires.

The communities of Hamlet of Wabasca, Bigstone Cree Nation – Wabasca # 166, and Chipewyan Lake Village are evacuated, and the evacuation orders are still in effect for these areas. The public must not be in these areas. Anyone who has evacuated must register at the Calling Lake Reception Centre at 2870 Central Drive, in Calling Lake. Evacuees can also call the Centre if they are unable to physically attend that location, and must call 780-331-3343 to register via the telephone. Instruction: The Hamlet of Wabasca, Bigstone Cree Nation, and Chipewyan Lake Village remain evacuated and the public must not enter these areas. Evacuees must attend or call the Reception Centre in Calling Lake. Everyone in Calling Lake must limit there use of the local water due to the increase of persons now within this community.
