Description: Alberta Emergency Alert - Telephone Service Alert

There is an incident that has affected telephone and cell phone communications in the Town of Mayerthorpe. Severe damage has occurred to the Telus building in the Hamlet of Sangudo which is also affecting 911 services within town and area. The damage is expected to take several days to repair and get fully operational again, but Telus has confirmed that this is priority at this time.

Action to take:

• There is no landline capability and cell phone service is extremely compromised
• The Town of Mayerthorpe office is fully operational
• The Mayerthorpe Hospital, RCMP detachment, Fire and Ambulance Hall have no landline service
• Listen to local authorities for any updates and limit cell usage to emergencies only.
