There is a wildfire just south of the Canada US border in Glacier National Park approximately 5 km south of the Waterton townsite. It is located in the Boundary Creek Valley and approaching Upper Waterton Lake. Parks Canada staff are monitoring the fire.

People in Waterton Park should be prepared to evacuate on short notice.

Action to take:

• People in Waterton Park should be prepared to evacuate on short notice
• All trails and waterbodies in Waterton are closed
• The highways and townsite in Waterton remain open
• Parks Canada will post more information as it becomes available.
