Description: There was a train derailment near the town of Mayerthorpe on Greencourt Road, affecting Highway 22 north to Range Road 85. There remains no danger to residents. C N continues to mitigate the recovery process and will remain in the area until all activities are completed to clean up after the derailment.
A total of eighteen rail cars derailed, resulting in no danger to area residents. C N personnel have completed removal of the rail cars and repairs to the track have also been completed. Site clean up and reclamation of product will commence on Monday.
Instruction: A train has derailed near the town of Mayerthope and the public is being asked to continue to follow the directions of personnel working in the area. As clean up and reclamation will be ongoing beginning Monday, the public is asked to be patient while traveling in the area until mitigation is completed.
