Description: Alberta Emergency Alert - Flash Flood Alert Updated

A State of Local Emergency has been declared due to the risk of flooding in Fort Vermilion and surrounding area. Water levels have risen significantly this morning and continue to rise. A reception centre has been established at the Fort Vermilion Community Complex at 5001 – 44 Ave. Residents in North Vermilion, Buttertown, have been asked to evacuate.

Action to take:

  • Residents in other low lying areas are also asked to prepare for a possible evacuation
  • All evacuees are asked to report to the reception centre or call 780-927-3718 to register
  • Please avoid low lying areas
  • Do not bypass or move barricades.
