Area: Birch Hills County

Description: Melting snow continues to cause flooding in Birch Hills resulting in road closures. Overland flooding has lessened in the Wanham area. Kakut Lake, Peoria, South Codesa, Eaglesham and Tangent areas are experiencing overland flooding. The flood situation is expected to continue throughout the weekend. Barricades and signs are being placed at affected locations.

Call the County office at 780-694-3793 to report roads that are flooded or washed out. Check the County website at www.birchhillscounty.com for a map of closed roads. Numerous roads are affected by flood waters if you see roads that are washed out or water is over the road don't travel on that road. Updates will be posted as they become available.

Instruction: Take all necessary precautions. Use alternate routes and obey posted signs. Do not bypass or move barricades or travel through water covered roads as there may be hidden hazards including washouts and erosion. Drive with extreme caution
