Alberta Emergency Alert: Overland Flow Flood Alert Updated

Area: Smoky River #130

Description: Melting snow continues to cause flooding in the Municipal District of Smoky River No. 130 resulting in road closures. Overland flooding is affecting areas throughout the municipality, additional locations may be affected in the next few days. Signage and barricades are in place on affected roads. Sand bags are available for residents who are concerned about flooding.

Call the office at 780-837-2221 to report roads that are flooded or to pick up sand bags. Go to www.mdsmokyriver.com for a list of road closures.

Instruction: Use alternate routes and obey posted signs. Do not bypass or move barricades or travel through water covered roads as there may be hidden hazards including washouts and erosion. Drive with extreme caution. Listen for further updates and follow the instructions that apply to your area.
