Description: Snow melt is causing overland flooding in areas throughout Red Deer County, resulting in road closures and localized flooding. Highway 587 is closed between Range Road 23 and Range Road 25 effective 2:30pm APRIL 23.
County staff are in the field evaluating conditions and determining operational requirements. Road closure locations and further updates are being posted at www.rdcounty.ca as they become available.
Instruction: Do not bypass or move barricades. Do not travel on roads covered by water as there may be unforeseen hazards. Avoid rivers, valleys and low lying areas. Follow the directions of local authorities. Contact 403-350-2150 if your home is impacted by flooding or to report an unmarked hazard.
