2016 Child Development Professional Award winners

Child Development Professional Award winners accept their award from Irfan Sabir, Minister of Human Services.

Every day, thousands of children receive high-quality care from Alberta’s child development professionals. Recognizing those professionals acknowledges how their work has contributed to supporting parents and to the development of young Albertans.

Award recipients have been selected from more than 85 nominees for their leadership, creativity, innovation and collaborative approaches to their work. Nominees work in child care, early childhood development programs and services, and in Parent Link Centres.

“Every child deserves to grow up in a nurturing environment with every opportunity to succeed and thrive. Child development professionals play a critical role in building bright futures for Alberta’s children and for our province. For that reason, our government is proud to recognize their hard work, care and creativity.”

Irfan Sabir, Minister of Human Services

Recipients have been recognized from cities across the province, including Calgary, Coaldale, Cochrane, Drayton Valley, Edmonton, Grande Prairie and Red Deer.

The 11th annual awards celebrate Alberta’s early childhood educators and programs licensed by Human Services and Education. Awards are given to individuals, teams and programs.

The corporate sponsor for the 2016 Awards is Wintergreen Learning Materials.
