The Commissioner, Paul Fraser, determined that information not available to the former Alberta Ethics Commissioner when he completed his original investigation in 2013 warrants a re-investigation. Commissioner Fraser has been asked by the Alberta Ethics Commissioner to undertake the re-investigation.
This spring, a report by former Supreme Court Justice Frank Iacobucci recommended that the Alberta Ethics Commissioner review the matter. The B.C. Conflict of Interest Commissioner was contracted to complete the review, due to a potential conflict of interest for the Alberta Ethics Commissioner.
