“Congratulations to the 31 athletes from Alberta on making the Canadian Olympic Team. I am extremely proud to see our province so well represented. Over the next 16 days these athletes will compete at the highest level of their sport, a testament to their passion, dedication and hard work; inspiring the next generation of athletes and sports fans.

Alberta is home to and trains some of the best athletes Canada has to offer and we are so proud to have them represent our country in Rio. Our commitment to fostering active lifestyles is what keeps Canada among the top competitors in the world at the Olympics. Through the dedication of our athletes and their families, our coaches, officials, and volunteers, we continue to show the world that sport is at the heart of what it means to be Albertan.

I know that the people of Alberta join me in wishing all our athletes, coaches and support staff the best of luck in Rio. We know they will all do us proud and look forward to cheering them on. Go Canada Go!”
