These four projects support youth, First Nation communities, employers and community organizations and will advance Alberta’s Employment First Strategy by providing inclusive and accessible workplaces for people with disabilities.

The successful recipient organizations are:
Foothills Special Needs Association for Parents and Siblings
Calgary Region, with services to High River, Okotoks and Foothills MD #31.
This organization provides youth supports and proposes to prepare youth and families for post-secondary education and employment and build employer awareness. The project involves collaboration among many communities and stakeholders, and fills a need for employment supports for rural areas and small communities.
Prospect/Viable
Calgary Region, with services along the Calgary-Edmonton corridor.
This organization provides employer supports and proposes to engage employers in creating supportive workplaces, and expand existing Calgary services to communities, including smaller ones, along the corridor to Edmonton.
Gateway Association for Community Living
Edmonton Region, with services to the Edmonton region.
This organization will provide supports specifically for youth in care ages 16 to 25, and supports to the employers who would engage with this youth group. Employment supports for youth-in-care is an area that will benefit from further development .
Northeast Alberta Information Hub
Northeast/North Central Region, with services to Aboriginal communities in St. Paul, Vegreville, Saddle Lake, Frog Lake, Barrhead, Westlock, Bonnyville, Cold Lake, Hinton, Athabasca and Lac La Biche.
This organization will provide supports for service providers and Aboriginal communities, and provide training, information and knowledge to service providers in several communities. This project involves collaboration with numerous stakeholders, including Alberta Works and Persons with Developmental Disabilities.
