William Hnydyk

Dr. Hnydyk was the Assistant Executive Director of Professional Affairs at the Alberta Medical Association (AMA), where he advocated and adjudicated issues related to patient care, as well as participated in s number of professional projects. He is a member of the College of Physicians & Surgeons (CPSA), a member of the College of Family Practice in Canada (MCFP) and an AMA member emeritus. Dr. Hnydyk received the Canadian Certified Physician Executive Designation in 2014 and has completed the Not-For-Profit Governance Essential Program, Crown Director Effectiveness Program and the Boardroom Financial Essentials Program through the Institute of Corporate Directors, and the Principles of Administrative Justice and Decision Making courses through the Foundation of Administrative Justice.

Olayinka Ibi

Dr. Ibi received her medical degree from the University of Maiduguri. She completed her Family Medicine Residency at the University of Alberta. Dr. Ibi has strong interests in public health and active, healthy communities.

Keith King

Mr. King has been a registered nurse, and his areas of expertise include patient and family-centered care, quality improvement, service development, management, adult education, clinical nursing and research. He is currently a Faculty Lecturer with the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Alberta. He has most recently worked as an Accreditation Advisor for Alberta Health Services, after returning from the UK where he worked and studied as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Infectious Diseases and also as a Clinical Researcher for Mental Health. Mr. King has also held roles in Honorary Lecturer, Senior Clinical Practice Facilitator, Organizational Practice Consultant and Education Coordinator. Mr. King holds a Masters of Public Health and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, and has membership in a number of professional associations.

Larry Loven

Larry is a Certified Management Consultant and has been a course developer and instructor at MacEwan University, NAIT, and the University of Alberta. He holds a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Industrial Design and is a member of the Canadian Association of Management Consultants. He has been a member of many boards.

Catherine MacDonald

Catherine MacDonald has over 19 years’ experience in Health Care. She was appointed to the College of Physician and Surgeons of Alberta council and played a leadership role; she served as the Chair of the Governance Committee and was a member and Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee. Catherine has 6 years of experience sitting in appeals panels and was often the Chair of the proceeding for the physician profession. With an MBA received in 2007, Catherine has also received a designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors Board Governance (ICD.D). From a volunteer perspective, as a board member of the Royal Alexandra, was instrumental in raising funds for the building of the Lois Hole Hospital for Women and also for operating equipment for the Orthopedic Centre at the Royal Alex.

Michelle Plouffe

Michelle Plouffe is the Vice President, General Counsel and Compliance Officer at MacEwan University and had obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree and her Law degree from the University of Alberta. Michelle is a legal and strategic advisor to the MacEwan University Board of Governors and its Audit Committee, Campus Planning Committee, Governance and Human Resources Committee, and Foundation Board. She has been a board member for the Association of Corporate Counsel, Alberta Chapter, and is currently the Chair of the Hospital Privileges Appeal Board, a member of the Balancing Pool Board of Directors, and the Chair of the Balancing Pool Board Governance and Human Resources Committee. Ms. Plouffe has been a volunteer member of the Law Society of Alberta Audit Committee and is currently a volunteer member on the Conduct Committee.
