Options to help mitigate flood risks along Beach Street East.
The land along Beach Street East, in the Summer Village of Rochon Sands, is at risk of flooding during extreme weather conditions when lake levels are high.
In 2012, when the lake water level was very high, meetings were held with landowners and it was agreed that mitigation measures and emergency access is required.
We aim to find a permanent solution that reflects and addresses community concerns while protecting properties from the potential flood risk.
The project team hosted an open house on September 2, 2017 to share the preferred design options.
