“Alberta’s low taxes, skilled workforce and business-friendly environment continue to pay dividends as our manufacturing sector outperforms jurisdictions across Canada.

“In the second quarter of 2024, quarterly manufacturing sales rose three per cent year over year to $25.6 billion. Alongside this growth in sales, Alberta’s manufacturing industry has seen robust employment growth, increasing by 6.7 per cent since the start of 2024. Overall, the industry now represents 25.2 per cent of all jobs in Alberta’s goods-producing sector.

“Alberta’s manufacturing industry is well-positioned for continued growth thanks to ongoing private sector investments across the province, including Structural Truss Systems Ltd. in Fort Macleod, Mondi in Hinton and Logistik Unicorp Inc in Lakeland in the past year alone.

“With our competitive business environment continuing to attract world-class investments and the jobs that come with it, we look forward to building on this momentum and promoting Alberta’s manufacturing capabilities to the world.”
