“Indigenous History Month and National Indigenous Peoples Day provide an opportunity for all of us to engage with Indigenous Peoples and cultures.

“Both remind us of who we are and where we came from. And while it is an opportunity for us to do so during this special time, it’s a reminder and a call to action to do so every day.

“Reconciliation is not a destination, it is a journey. It is a process of living together respectfully while sharing space and resources so we can all succeed.

“I wish all Indigenous Peoples in Alberta and across Canada a day of joy as you celebrate the strong and resilient cultures that build the foundation of our shared nation.”
