“We are fortunate to have people from diverse backgrounds call Alberta home. This diversity strengthens and enriches our workplaces, communities and our economy.

“Recent events in Alberta, including attacks on women and vandalism of places of worship, are reminders that intolerance and discrimination do exist in Alberta. Today is an opportunity to renew our commitment to building greater understanding, sympathy and trust in our communities to combat hatred. Along with my government colleagues, I will keep working to make Alberta a safe, inclusive and welcoming place for all.

“Building a safe and inclusive province involves everyone. On this day and every day, let’s celebrate the diversity that makes Alberta a great place to live by speaking out against hatred and discrimination, listening to and learning from our neighbours and treating everyone with respect.”
