“Happy new year, everyone!
“For most folks, New Year’s Day is about a couple of things. First of all, looking back with gratitude on those things that have gone well in the last year – the blessings or gifts that we have received. It’s also a chance to look to the year forward with a sense of hopefulness, as a new beginning.
“You know, we Albertans have been through a lot of challenges over the last four or five years, but we still have a lot about which we should be grateful. We still live in one of the very best places in the world. And I believe that 2020 will be a year of change – of positive growth, of opportunity. I hope that is what it will be for you and your family, especially for those Albertans who have been struggling in recent months and years.
“So from me to all of you, on behalf of the Government of Alberta, I hope that 2020 will be a year of peace, joy, prosperity and hope.
“Happy new year!”
