Overguard, an independent businesswoman and community leader, will bring a rural community viewpoint to planning and decision-making that will support improved patient-centered care across the province.

Mandel, a former mayor of Edmonton, Minister of Health and leader of the Alberta Party, brings expertise in business and government – skills that will help guide investments in mental health, addiction, primary and palliative care across the province.

With these appointments, the AHS board now includes six women and six men. Mandel and Overguard will serve three-year terms.
