The minister will be the featured guest at a VIP networking event to promote Alberta’s innovative interactive digital media and high-tech sectors to international industry leaders at the South by Southwest Conference (SXSW), March 9-12. With more than 70,000 international attendees, it is one of the largest innovation conferences in North America.

In addition, in a variety of one-on-one meetings, Minister Bilous will meet with potential investors and businesses looking to expand into the province.

SXSW is a premier destination for industry leaders, government officials and innovators to market new technologies, collaborate on innovation and network.

The cost of the mission for the minister, one political staff member and one government official is $17,700. The CEO of Alberta Innovates, Laura Kilcrease, who has long been involved in the conference in her previous roles in Austin, will also participate on the mission.
