New opportunities for Alberta tech, digital media

Technology and interactive digital media industries will be at the centre of Economic Development and Trade Minister Deron Bilous’s mission to Austin, Texas.

The minister will be the featured guest at a VIP networking event to promote Alberta’s innovative interactive digital media and high-tech sectors to international industry leaders at the South by Southwest Conference (SXSW), March 9-12. With more than 70,000 international attendees, it is one of the largest innovation conferences in North America.

In addition, in a variety of one-on-one meetings, Minister Bilous will meet with potential investors and businesses looking to expand into the province.

“Alberta’s digital media and technology innovators are making our province proud – attracting international attention and investment. Whether it’s important expansions in Alberta from companies like RocketSpace and Google or the incredible success of homegrown businesses like Bioware, together we are creating new jobs and a more diversified economy for the future.”
