This year, approximately 30 semifinalists will be selected and 20 winners will receive Excellence in Teaching Awards. Nominations will be open until Friday, March 4, 2016.

Award recipients receive a certificate of recognition and access to $4,000 for professional learning. Semifinalists receive certificates and access to $1,500 for professional learning.

Since its inception, more than 10,000 nominations have been submitted and more than 500 educators have received awards from the program.

Alberta Education presents the 28th annual Excellence in Teaching Awards with the support of the Alberta School Boards Association, the Alberta School Councils’ Association, the Alberta Teachers’ Association, the Association of Alberta Deans of Education and the College of Alberta School Superintendents.
