The Alberta government’s commitment to accessible, rider-friendly public transit includes $4.4 million for renewal and expansion of public transit fleets in both the City and County of Grande Prairie, along with support for new public transit infrastructure.

“Our government is making affordable, environmentally-friendly public transit a realistic option for more people across Alberta’s north. Our funding will make it possible to expand public transit into more communities and connect more Albertans to the jobs and services they depend on.”

Brian Mason, Minister of Transportation

“Modernizing and expanding our transit fleet responds to Grande Prairie’s continued growth, our young population and the growing environmental awareness of our residents. This investment from the Government of Alberta will help make our transit routes more efficient, saving our riders valuable time.”

Bill Given, Mayor, City of Grande Prairie

“This is a big step up for the County of Grande Prairie and Hamlet of Clairmont. For the first time, we will be able to make fully public transit available to our residents, providing an essential service to seniors, youth and employers in both the County and City.”

Leanne Beaupre, Reeve, County of Grande Prairie
