This release was issued under a previous government.

Minister Horner will meet with financial leaders and potential investors in Boston and New York City April 7 to April 10. He will promote Alberta as a destination for investment, while cultivating new and strengthening existing relationships with U.S. investors.

“This will be a great opportunity to talk about Budget 2014 and Alberta’s economy — which is second to none in North America — and to solidify valuable relationships that were made on previous U.S. visits. This will also provide a chance to forge new ties with investors and to highlight all that Alberta has to offer as one of the world’s economic growth and energy leaders.”

Doug Horner, President of Treasury Board and Minister of Finance

Horner’s U.S. meetings continue government’s efforts to build new markets for Alberta’s products and services, and attract investment.

“Our government remains firmly committed to telling the Alberta story to the rest of the world to ensure others know why investing in Alberta, with its AAA credit rating and thriving economy, is an excellent choice.”

Doug Horner, President of Treasury Board and Minister of Finance

In addition to meeting with financial leaders and investors, Horner will also give a speech to the Canadian Association of New York.

The estimated cost for Horner and one staff, including travel, accommodation and meals, is $10,000.

Under the Building Alberta Plan, our government is investing in families and communities, living within our means, and opening new markets for Alberta’s resources to ensure we’re able to fund the services Albertans told us matter most to them. We will continue to deliver the responsible change Albertans voted for.
