Unauthorized burning nets conviction, fine
The Provincial Court of Alberta has fined a DeBolt man $500 after he pleaded guilty to having an unauthorized outdoor fire during wildfire season.
Wade Balisky was charged under the Forest and Prairie Protection Act with burning brush piles and one windrow on cleared land in excess of what his valid fire permit allowed near DeBolt in August 2011. Seven other charges were withdrawn.
