“It is important for the world to understand that Alberta is open for business. Alberta is now competing against jurisdictions from around the world, and we need to make our mark,” said Premier Redford. “It is critical that we ensure the international community understands who we are as a people and how important our relationship is.”

The best and brightest of the world’s financial sector will be represented at the Bilderberg conference. Redford will meet with a diverse set of individuals while in Chantilly including financial, academic and public policy leaders to discuss a number of topics from monetary policy and ecological challenges to developing natural resources in a responsible manner.

Premier Redford’s mission is part of a more aggressive push to engage with world decision makers and influencers on Alberta’s interest in expanding business relations with the international community.

Chantilly is located in western Fairfax County in the southeastern part of Northern Virginia.

Premier Redford will travel to Chantilly on May 30 and return to Alberta on June 4. The total cost for Premier Redford’s mission including travel, accommodation and meals for the Premier and one staff member is estimated at $19,000.
